A pair of angular contact ball bearings can withstand radial and axial biaxial joint loads and can withstand pure radial loads. In-line configurations can withstand only axial loads in a single direction, and the other two configurations can withstand axial loads in either direction. This type of bearings are generally selected by the manufacturer of the combination of the user, after the installation has preload, the ring and steel ball in the axial preload state, thus improving the whole group of bearings as a single support stiffness and rotation accuracy.

Back-to-back configuration, the rear code is db (such as 70000/db), and the bearing line of the bearings with back-to-back pairs is separated from the bearing shaft. can withstand axial load in two directions, but the load in each direction can only be borne by one bearing. Bearings with back-to-back mounting provide a relatively high rigidity bearing configuration and can withstand overturning torques.

Face-to-face configuration, the post code is DF (such as 70000/DF), and the bearing line of the bearings facing each other is confluent to the bearing shaft. can withstand axial load in two directions, but the load in each direction can only be borne by one bearing. This configuration is not as rigid as a back-to-back pair, and is not suitable for overturning torques. The rigidity of this configuration and the ability to withstand overturning torque are not as good as DB configuration, bearing can withstand biaxial axial load;

In-line configuration, followed by the code for DT (such as 70000/DT), in series configuration, load lines parallel, radial and axial load from the bearing evenly shared. However, the bearing group can only withstand axial loads acting in one direction. If the axial load is acting in the opposite direction, or if there is a composite load, a third bearing with a relative tandem pair bearing adjustment must be added. This configuration can also be connected in tandem with three or more bearings at the same support, but only in a single direction of axial load. Usually, in order to balance and limit the axial displacement of the shaft, the other support shall be fitted with bearings capable of withstanding the axial load of the other.
