The sealed self-aligning ball bearing is a double row ball bearing in which the outer ring raceway is processed into a spherical shape and the inner ring has two deep groove raceways, and has a self-aligning performance. It is mainly used to bear the radial load. While receiving the radial load, it can also bear a small amount of axial load, but generally can not withstand the pure axial load, and its limit speed is lower than that of the deep groove ball bearing. This kind of bearing is mostly used on the double support shaft which is easy to bend under the load, and the part with the double bearing hole can not guarantee the strict coaxiality, but the relative inclination of the center line of the inner ring and the center line of the outer ring must not exceed 3 degree.
Bearing ring and steel ball
Its thermal stability is up to 120 °C (250 °F).
Steel or brass cages operate at the same temperature as bearing rings and steel balls. See Polymer Holders for temperature limits for polymer cages.
NBR seals are allowed to operate from –40 to +100 °C (–40 to +210 °F). Temperatures up to 120 °C (250 °F) can be tolerated for a short time.
Usually, the temperature peak is mostly at the sealing lip.
